Attendance

Regular attendance at school is vital to ensure that your child makes the progress that they should.

We engage in a team approach to this, and award a trophy to the class with the highest attendance in our Monday assembly.

Genuine medical reasons for being absent are taken into account. The winning class has the trophy on display for the following week. Our attendance for the 2017-18 academic year was 97%.

Absence:-

Please telephone school before 9.15 am to report any absence. Please phone every day that your child is absent.

Guidance from NHS UK: Vomiting and diarrhoea. Children with diarrhoea and/or vomiting should be kept off school until at least 48 hours after their symptoms have gone. Most cases of diarrhoea and vomiting in children get better without treatment, but if symptoms persist, please consult your GP.

Lates:-

If your child arrives after their start time but before 9.15 am they will receive a late mark.

If they arrive after 9.15 am they will receive a “late after the register closes”, this equates to an unauthorized absence and will affect their attendance figure.

Holidays:-

Holidays cannot be authorised during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Parents needing leave of absence for exceptional circumstances should request and complete a form or click here. Unauthorised absence may result in a fine and school closely monitors attendance of pupils when it reaches below 95%.
