Sports Premium 2025-26

Sport Premium is funding for primary schools aimed at sustainably improving the provision of physical education and sport, as well as encouraging the development of healthy, active lifestyles in all children. Funding for schools is based on £16,000 per school plus £10 per pupil. 

We are really proud of our achievements this year and have again been awarded the prestigious GOLD School Games Mark for our commitment to providing high quality school sport and physical activity.

This year we have:

Embarked on our journey with the Opal Play programme to improve active lunchtime play for all children.

Provided CPD training for all play leaders.

Developed playtime resources with loose parts and tyre swings.

Affiliated with SHAPE partnership to provide a primary school sport competition calendar and CPD programme.

Ensured SEN pupils have a relevant and engaging PE offer.

Upskilled staff in delivering high quality PE lessons.

Purchased new PE equipment.

Purchased membership to the REAL PE curriculum.

Provided opportunities for the coordinators to attend training.

Provided a wide range of new sport experiences for all pupils.

Our core aims for 2026-27 include:

  • Attend a wide range of sporting events across all age ranges through the School Games Programme, ensuring that pupils all have an opportunity to participate.
  • Engage in the Bikeability programme
  • Train Y5 pupils to be Mini Leaders, as part of the Healthy Schools Initiative
  • Purchase new equipment, ensuring that pupils can access lessons of the highest quality
  • Continue our progress with the Opal Play programme and complete our accreditation.
  • Extend our outdoor learning programme into pastoral support.
  • Ensure that our coordinators attend regular network meetings, enabling them to be at the cutting edge of new initiatives and guidance.
  • Ensure all staff and stakeholders understand and are trained in the Opal Play ethos.
  • Enhance our enrichment programme for sports and healthy lifestyles, for all pupils.
